Description

The Youth Directors role is to offer students the opportunity to initiate and/or
deepen their personal relationships with Jesus Christ. The mission of the Youth
Program is to develop and nurture the Christian faith, values and spirituality of
students in our church community in the age groups of junior high and senior high
(grades 6th- 12th).

The Youth Director will work to integrate our youth into the life of our church.  This candidate must be willing to devote time to identify visitors and potential new members and encourage them to become part of the youth program.  Will be required to work with appropriate staff and aid organizations to identify opportunities for the youth to play important roles in church activities such as Bazaars, Picnics, and Banquets etc.
Maintain a regular schedule of availability to include office hours, electronic
Correspondence, and website updates. Complete a monthly report of activities to be presented to Pastor/Board of Trustees. Must organize and hold regular weekly meetings.  Prepare a monthly report of activities to be presented at regular youth meetings. Assist in organizing fundraising efforts to support youth programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Plan and coordinate meaningful and relevant Children, Youth, and Family Ministry activities and events, which provide opportunities for spiritual growth, faith development, fellowship, and fun.
-In addition to regular youth group meetings and bible studies and Junior and Senior High Sunday school, participation in retreats, service projects and other special events is required.
-Enthusiastic participation in all activities involving Children, Youth, and their respective families, which may/could include activities and events that take place in the schools and in the community.
-Communicate with the Pastor/Board of Trustees regarding the implementation of programs. Work at maintaining positive relationships with parents and members.
-Regularly meet with children, youth, and families of the parish, at church, in homes and in the community. This would include the development, planning and
implementation of activities for children, youth, and families during the after school hours, including weekends and summer vacation. Develop relationships which include a spiritual element with the youth. This will lead to ascertaining their spiritual condition in order to best enrich their faith, looking into the scriptures with them for answers to their questions, and leading them to scripture and to God in prayer.

-Incorporate the teachings of the Armenian Church by coordinating with the Pastor or Deacons for regular lessons on the Church calendar etc.
-Will have oversight of Junior High and Senior High youth programs.
-Ensure that all youth activities are adequately supervised by approved, responsible adults.
-Year-round schedule, average of 10 hours a week, including Sundays.
