TUESDAY, October 7
Prepare/Enrich Training
This all-day workshop trains pastors, counselors and marriage mentors in pre-marital and couples counseling.

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Materials, certification, access to computer inventories and scoring, plus additional training materials on the Life Innovations website are included.

Prepare/Enrich Training gives pastors, counselors, and marriage mentors a wonderful tool that will help make them much more efficient, skillful and responsive in their work with couples, whether this is in premarital counseling, enrichment classes or retreats, personal counseling, or working with conflicted and troubled marriages.

This one day training utilizes five different sets of Prepare/Enrich inventories that will provide information on where the couple agrees and disagrees in fifteen areas, including communication, family of origin, sexuality, finances, personality, spirituality and parenting. These inventories will then describe where each couple’s strengths are as well as where they need to grow and change. There are five sets of inventories for all kinds of couples, so although it was first designed for premarital couples, it is now utilized for older couples facing retirement decisions, couples with children, and those wishing to enrich their marriages. In addition, teaching materials for helping couples develop conflict resolution, budgeting, goal setting, and other communication skills are included. Visit the Prepare/Enrich website to learn more.

Dr. Delores Friesen is Professor of Pastoral Counseling at MB Biblical Seminary’s campus in Fresno, California. Her vast experience includes twenty years as a professor in the Marriage, Family and Child Counseling department at MBBS, thirteen years as a missionary in Africa, and seven years on pastoral staff in a congregation.
