Housing
Mission Memorial Court Apartments – On-Campus
There are ten Mission Memorial Court Apartments which were completed in 1967. They were built in memory of Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren missionaries who served in the extension of the gospel at home and abroad. They were built from the donations of missionaries and other supporters of the school. Their wish was to provide housing for seminary students coming from overseas or from Canada.
The apartments are about 800 square feet and contain 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and family room. They come fully furnished with Queen size beds in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds or bunk beds in the second room, a couch, a refrigerator and table and chairs in the kitchen. There is a laundry room for court apartment tenants use and also a deep freezer that is shared by the tenants. In the back there is a small playground for the children.
Because of the size and nature of the Mission Memorial Court Apartments, some guidelines for admittance have been established. The first guideline is the order of priority for renting. First priority goes to International students, then Canadian students and then U.S. students from outside California. We also try to keep the number of children to a minimum by allowing only families with no more than 2 children. If a third child is born during the duration of the stay at seminary, we will allow that family to remain in the Court Apartments. Admittance to the Court apartments is also dependent upon your admittance to the Seminary. There are no pets allowed.
These guidelines are set up for the benefit of those living in the apartments. If you feel you have a special need or circumstance please feel free to contact the Housing Director and your request will be reviewed by the Campus Management Team.
