Changing Audited Courses to Credit
If a student audits a course, and later wishes to convert that course to credit, s/he must take the course as a regular class or as a directed study. The student may not request Advanced Standing for that course. If the student has already paid an audit tuition fee for the class, that amount can be deducted from the regular or directed study tuition fee charged provided the request to upgrade the audited course is within no more than a 2-year time period. For courses audited more than 2 years ago, the student must pay the regular or directed study tuition rate (no prior audit tuition fees that the student has paid will be deducted). The student seeking credit for the course must follow the steps outlined below:
1) Obtain permission from the instructor of record for the course and the Academic Dean to upgrade the course from audit to credit utilizing the ‘Special Course Registration’ form.
2) Pay the current regular tuition rate to receive credit for the course (less any audit tuition rate paid within the 2-year period, if applicable).
3) Complete the required course work for the class with the instructor of record within a specified time frame (usually no longer than 1 semester for completion of course work).
If the student audited the course prior to admission to MBBS as a degree-seeking student, s/he may apply for admission to MBBS and then take the steps outlined above.
