Entering Student Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to first year students upon entering the seminary. Student must be admitted to a degree program and registered for the number of units indicated in the criteria for each scholarship. Admission to a degree program must be completed by May 1 for the fall semester and Oct. 15th for the spring semester in order to be eligible for these scholarships.

Students who wish to apply for scholarships must file the formal application MB Biblical Seminary-Fresno Financial Aid Application
with the Financial Aid office by May 1st for the Fall semester and Oct 15th for the Spring semester. DON’T DELAY YOUR REGISTRATION AS IT COULD COST YOU THOUSANDS.

These scholarships are applied to student account at the beginning of each semester over 2 semesters. Criteria must be maintained for 2 semesters in order to receive 100% of funds.

1st Year General Scholarships 10 at $2,000
  • 1st year student
  • Admitted to MA or Mdiv program
  • 2 years active membership in any Christian church
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
  • Maintain at least 3.0 GPA
  • Student must enroll by published deadlines
Bill Janzen Memorial Scholarship 5 at $2,000
  • 1st year student
  • Membership in MB or Mennonite church for at least 1 year
  • Admitted to MA or Mdiv degree program
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
  • Maintain GPA of at least 3.0 in previous year of studies
Canadian Student Scholarship 3 at $500
  • Canadian student at any MBBS campus (Langley, Fresno)
  • Enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Admitted to a degree program
Central District Conference Scholarship $1,000
  • Preference given to student from the Central District
  • Membership in MB or Mennonite church for at least 1 year
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
International Student Scholarship - 1st year 2 at $2,000
  • International student
  • Preference given to MB or Mennonite
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
J. A. Toews Scholarship 2 at $250
  • Canadian student at Fresno campus
  • Student working part-time in a church
  • Enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Admitted to any degree program
J.J. and Lena Toews Scholarship 2 at $2,000
  • Preference given to Canadian student studying in Fresno
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
  • Admitted to Mdiv degree program
Martens Family Scholarship 2 at $2,000
  • Canadian student at Fresno campus
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
  • Admitted to a MA or Mdiv degree program
Martha Funk Scholarship $150
  • Working part-time in church
  • Enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Must be admitted to a degree program
P. A. Neufeld Scholarship 3 at $250
  • Working part-time in a church
  • Enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Must be admitted to a degree program
President's Scholarship 3 at $5,000
  • Paid over 3 years of study
  • Preference given to an MB student
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units each semester (fall, spring)for 3 years of study
  • Preference to student admitted to M.div program
  • Entering GPA of 3.5
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA during 3 years of study at MBBS
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
Ruth Wiens Scholarship 3 at $250
  • Working part-time in church
  • Enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Must be admitted to a degree program
Springboard Scholarship $1,000
  • students who change from an Unclassified/non-degree student status to a Regular degree-seeking status
  • enroll for at least 9 units per semester in their first two consecutive semesters as a Regular student
