Certificate in Worship Ministry (15 units)

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  • Plan and organize engaging worship services,
  • Lead corporate worship effectively,
  • Apply basic knowledge of the biblical/theological foundations of Christian worship in the planning and leading of worship,
  • Employ principles of interpersonal communication, team-building, and conflict resolution in relating to lay volunteers and ministry staff,
  • Demonstrate knowledge of audio/visual technology commonly employed in contemporary worship ministry,
  • Integrate creative arts into corporate worship,
  • Administer and provide leadership for a worship ministry, and
  • Reflect critically upon current issues in worship ministry and assess the relevance of these issues for one’s ministry context.

Requirements

Individually Designed Certificates (15 units)

Certificates provide an opportunity for students to focus their studies on an area of special interest for personal enrichment and for more effective ministry. They are individually designed around the interests, gifts, and call of students in areas such as Bible, Christian Leadership, Church Planting, Personal Formation, Christian Community Development, Intercultural Mission, or Anabaptist Theology. Credits can be transferred into a seminary degree program.

MBBS & Partners Certificates (15 units)

NOTE: No new applicants being accepted at this time.

1. Urban Leadership
This certificate, offered in cooperation with the Fresno Institute for Urban Leadership (FIFUL), provides accreditation for FIFUL courses plus additional Seminary courses.

2. Women in Ministry
This certificate, offered in cooperation with the Baptist General Conference School of Women’s Ministries, provides courses geared to help women minister in the church and the world.
