Counseling Individuals
This course is a survey of the major theoretical models in psychology for use in psychotherapy with individuals. This course will explore a variety of theories and styles of counseling. Basic skills in responding to crisis situations will be reviewed. The various models presented will be examined from religious and psychological perspectives.
FURTHER SUPERVISED TRAINING WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE STUDENTS MAY ASSUME COMPETENCY AT WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS AND COUPLES IN A THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Counseling (undergraduate or graduate course).
