International Applicants

Applications received from international students for admission to a degree, diploma or certificate program at MB Biblical Seminary will be accepted until May 1st for the fall semester and October 1st for the spring semester.

The following must be submitted to complete an application and begin processing:

General Application Admission Requirements

  • Provide evidence of a legal right, or intent to have a legal right, to study in the United States by:
    – providing proof of U.S. Citizenship (copy of Birth Certificate or Passport) or Permanent Residency (copy of Green Card)
    – expressing intent to have us issue you a student visa and meeting that visa’s requirements
  • Submit three completed reference forms (included in application).
  • Submit official transcripts from all undergraduate studies programs, including evidence of an earned Bachelor’s degree. Personal copies are not acceptable: have official transcripts mailed directly to the Director of Admissions.
  • Be interviewed by the Admissions Committee and one faculty member. A Committee member will arrange an interview(s). The interview(s) will discuss the applicant’s personal story and ministry goals, nature and adequacy of previous undergraduate studies, the challenges of study at MB Biblical Seminary, and questions or concerns the applicant may have.

A completed application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
All applicants will be notified by email or letter of the decision by the Admissions Committee after the application interview.

Marriage, Family and Child Counseling Admission Requirements

  • Provide evidence of a legal right, or intent to have a legal right, to study in the United States by:
    – providing proof of U.S. Citizenship (copy of Birth Certificate or Passport) or Permanent Residency (copy of Green Card)
    – expressing intent to have us issue you a student visa and meeting that visa’s requirements
  • Submit three completed reference forms (included in application).
  • Submit official transcripts from all undergraduate studies programs, including evidence of an earned Bachelor’s degree. Personal copies are not acceptable: have official transcripts mailed directly to the Director of Admissions.
  • Submission of MAT (Miller Analogies Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Exam) score. MB Biblical Seminary’s code for the GRE is 4230. Additional Testing may be requested in cases where the committee requires additional documentation.
  • Completion of at least 5 undergraduate psychology courses, particularly: Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology or Psychopathology, Introduction to Counseling (assumes both theory and skills area), and Human Development (or Adolescent or Child Development).
  • Completion of courses will be confirmed through official transcripts. If a class was taken at a non-accredited institution, submit a copy of the syllabus from the class for consideration in satisfying this requirement. This requirement is waived for students who score in the 50th percentile or higher on the GRE Advanced Psychology Exam.
  • Evidence of personal well-being as reflected in personal references, application documents and personal interview(s). Additional standardized personality testing may be requested in cases where the committee requires additional documentation.
  • Demonstration of the following characteristics: self-aware, able to relate well with others, free from substance abuse, able to resolve conflict in a reasonable manner, able to discipline oneself to accomplish a task, able to observe ethical properties and have integrity, and show a willingness to face problems and seek help.
  • Promise of effectiveness in counseling and community intervention as reflected in personal references and counseling experience under the supervision of a qualified supervisor.
  • Provide evidence of at least 50 hours of face-to-face counseling work with regular supervision by a qualified supervisor. Volunteer experience is adequate; professional experience is not required. Examples of such experience could be: volunteering on a telephone hotline, volunteering at a substance abuse recovery program, or volunteering at a crisis pregnancy center.
  • Be interviewed by MFCC faculty. A faculty member will arrange an interview(s). The interview(s) will discuss the applicant’s personal story and goals, nature and adequacy of previous undergraduate studies, personal well-being, nature of previous counseling experience, the nature of the MFCC program at MB Biblical Seminary, and questions or concerns the applicant may have.

After all the application documents are received and the interview is completed by the MFCC faculty, the MFCC department makes a written recommendation to the Admissions Committee. This recommendation is either for Direct Admission or Provisional Admission (if all prerequisites are not met). The applicant is usually given one semester to complete prerequisites. After completion of prerequisite requirements the application will be reviewed again by the admissions committee in consultation with the MFCC department for a final decision regarding admission status. All applicants will be notified by email or letter of the decision by the Admissions Committee.
